Paul Kalkbrenner - Essential Mix - 30-07-2011

As of 2010, Paul Kalkbrenner has tallied up more than 15 years of experience as a producer and live act. The early 90s after the Berlin Wall fell were formative years for Paul, and after spending many long and sleepless nights on the dancefloors of E-Werk, Planet and Whale, the dream was born to make music himself. A job as TV editor got him through the mid-90s and financed his first music gear. By this point Paul had already decided that he did not want to be a typical DJ playing other people's records, but rather to play only his own music, live in a club setting. His first tracks as Paul Kalkbrenner were released in 1999 on Berlin-based BPitch Control (the newly founded label from Ellen Allien) as the Friedrichshain EP, titled after his home district in the city's east. A series of further singles and two full-lengths (Superimpose and Time) followed, plus continuous live performances.

Joris Voorn In sessions maxima fm 29_10_2011

By the end of 2000 Joris began building a small studio to produce his own music, which led to his first release
called 'muted trax pt.1' on Keynote. His first EP was massive success, filling the record boxes of Carl Craig,
Laurent Garnier, DJ Rush and Technasia. In 2003 'Lost memories Pt.1' was released on Technasia's SINO label
and was followed by 'Lost memories Pt.2' containing the anthem 'Incident' which was heard on dancefloors
around the world.
In 2006 the sophomore release under Voorn's Green label, named 'MPX_309', was a crossover techno work that
was played out by techno, minimal, house and trance DJs. During the same year Voorn created his second
album, released worldwide in June 2007. This new piece of work called 'From a deep place' featured many
different styles of electronic music, ranging from atmospheric interludes to broken beats, house and deep soulful

Claude VonStroke - Live Set @ Bird Brain Album Tour, Harry Klein Club - München 2011

Claude VonStroke does not scowl and look mean while he DJs. He does not pretend to know everything and he will be nice to you and your friends. He is grateful to be doing music for a living and he knows that the reason people go to parties is to shake their ass and have fun. If you want to act cool and not have any fun then please do not book him.

VonStroke created dirtybird records in 2005 and has been running everything from A&R to daily operations ever since. The name "Claude VonStroke" was a joke that caught on after he released a series of quirky tracks under the moniker in order to help kick start the dirtybird label. His very first record, “Deep Throat,” used a strange vocal sound effect as percussion to make a sleeper hit selling tens of thousands of copies. The follow-up track, "Who's Afraid of Detroit?" was the catalyst that changed his career from bedroom producer to touring DJ. He has been blessed with similar success stories ever since.

John Digweed presents Stelios Vassiloudis - It Is What It Is - Album Minimix

Following the debut artist album by Marco Bailey, Guy J’s second artist album and releases from label owner John Digweed himself (in the form of the “Structures” and “Bedrock 12” mix compilations), Bedrock now proudly presents the debut artist album from rising Greek star Stelios Vassiloudis, titled “It Is What It Is”.
Presented over two discs, the album commences with a beautiful cinematic soundscape on CD1, whereas CD2 allows Stelios to showcase his club sound, which develops from laidback deep house grooves right through to a more intense techier acidic vibe. With all the tracks blended and mixed together into a continuous play format to create the optimum listening experience, this is a fantastic release showcasing top quality, forward-thinking music and once again showing why Bedrock is one of the leading labels in the global electronic scene.

Akiko Kiyama , Clubxsession (Insomnia fm) 10-09-2011

Japanese, Tokyo born Akiko Kiyama has been a prominent figure on the minimal techno scene since her first released productions in 2004. The first female minimal tech producer to have come out of Japan now lives and works from Berlin, Germany.Akiko grew up with an education dominated by music, a classically trained pianist and guitar player by the age of twelve, she went on to explore and teach herself how to fuse her classic skills with sounds created by electronic equipment. Over the years that followed Akiko fell deeper into dance music, eager to evolve and create electronically manipulated sounds and atmospheres, she began producing in 2002. Kiyama’s first works were released in 2004; her debut ep “Dimension” on London’s Sud Electronic received outstanding support from the industry and names such as Richie Hawtin, Sven Vath and Ricardo Villalobos. Inspired by such an overwhelming debut Akiko went straight back into the studio, the result of which was her ‘Like Ancient’ track being licensed by M-nus Records and going on to appear on Richie Hawtin’s DE9 Transitions Compilation.

Minilogue - Animals Lovers of electronic music have been esteeming Minilogue for many years. In 2008 it is almost impossible to imagine club music without the two musicians from Malmö, Sweden. Nowadays, electronic producers tend to retreat into their special stylistic niche - Minilogue dare to draw the bigger picture. After releasing outstanding productions on such renowned labels as Traum, Crosstown Rebels or Wagon Repair, there opus magnum is to appear on Sven Väths Cocoon Recordings. There are few producers who match Cocoon's vision of an electronic sound both on the dancefloor and beyond the club so perfectly: "Animals" covers a wide spectrum of music, it reaches from peaktime techno to beatless deep ambient. The full range of Minilogue's vision of electronic music is developed on a double CD, while the vinyl version naturally focuses on the dance tracks. The immediacy of the club tracks sweeps everything away that is circumstantial and long-winded in contemporary dance music. The tracks incorporate the elegance and simplicity of classical early Nineties' techno, the economy and lightness of the minimal sound and the sweetness and charm of the recent developments. "Animals" is not a collection of single tracks but a journey that is supposed be listened form beginning to end, it is mixed in a seamless flow.

Piatto Set Proton Radio 24/10/2011

The name " Piatto " stands for a combo, that is the brothers Davide and Alessandro.
Since his childhood Alessandro follows his brother's group called N.O.I.A.
The N.O.I.A is probably the first Italian electronic musical group founded in 1978 by Davide Piatto and Bruno Magnani.
In those years Alessandro is acquainted with Electronic Music and New Wave starting playing drum machine and synthetizers.
At the beginning of the 80's he produces demo tapes and starts to play live performances with various groups.
In 1986 he plays dj sets with a punk style then, later on, they will become more techno.
For what about Davide: " Claudio "Mozart" Rispoli, Davide Piatto and N.O.I.A., Alexander Robotnik, i DFC Teamare perhaps the main characters of a new style of music that can be called "Nouvelle Vague" which has influuenced the traditional idea of Dance Music. These people with their "Homemade Production" have managed to reach international hits of music by inventing their peculiar and stylish music.
D. Piatto can be considered an "Angry Rocker" of his town (Cervia);
He can be remembered with his group " Rebels Without a Cause " for his live concerts and his italian neorock style, both for the kind of music and the look [...].
