Joris Voorn - Live at Trouw - Amsterdam [2011-12-26]

By the end of 2000 Joris began building a small studio to produce his own music, which led to his first release
called 'muted trax pt.1' on Keynote. His first EP was massive success, filling the record boxes of Carl Craig,
Laurent Garnier, DJ Rush and Technasia. In 2003 'Lost memories Pt.1' was released on Technasia's SINO label
and was followed by 'Lost memories Pt.2' containing the anthem 'Incident' which was heard on dancefloors
around the world.

After the success of 'Incident', Voorn released his debut cd album called 'Future History' on the Sino label.
Encompassing 3 years of ideas and inspiration, the cd contains 20 diverse tracks, a seamless soundscape that
represents his arrival as one of the most relevant techno producers of this time.

Oliver Huntemann - Artist PR Mixsession #03 [2011-12-28]

Myths abound in the north when it comes to techno ground zero, and they refuse to go away. Oliver Huntemann is one of a handful of children of the north who, for what seems like an eternity, add an element of credence to the mythology. He does not, of course, live in a snowy forest or at the edge of the polar oceans. The sun does, on
occasion, shine down on Hamburg. Nevertheless, there is a tendency towards hypothermic reduction in the rigourous efficiency of the Huntemann oeuvre. Images of cold storage warehouses, desolate heavy plant sites and blueish flesh are not entirely misplaced. Shards of German Engineering glimmer in his music, laced with persuasive logic, gruesome Darwinism. What remains: what works. In “Brighter than the sun“, the English music theorist Kodwo Eshun depicts the birthplace of Kraftwerk, Dusseldorf, as the “Mississippi Delta of Techo“. Huntemann’s tracks may well have dragged themselves out of the same primeval soup, but it was the far north which fired them with the necessary steel for clubland. The resultig creations are linear, free of fancy, charmingly direct. One particular London arbiter of taste sought to label the nature of his skeletal sound as “bare and striped back to the metallic core“ – whereby Huntemann’s reduction does not end in thin minimalism, it draws attention to the core itself. Less is more to the max. The on

Born on 13th march 1984 in Romania, in a small city Bacau, Zotist began his career very early, being passionate by electronic music since the age 15 when he got in contact with the majority of the DJs from his hometown, and in this way in the winter of 1999 he became one of the residents at the biggest club in Bacau, at that time XXL Club. Because of the club's requirements of "cocktail" music, in 2001 he becomes the resident of an open-air big club, also in Bacau, opened only during summer, named Marinarul Club, were he experimented all electronic genres.

Noticed at a party by the owner of Zebra Club in Bacau, a new club that in time has made a big name in Romania, Zotist is invited to become resident along Raresh, that happend with the autumn's coming. He played with the majority of the best Romanian DJs and also with well-known international DJs such as: Margaret Dygas, Oliver McGregor, James Zabiela, John Graham aka Quivver, Dusan.

Thomas Schumacher, Live At DASDING Plattenleger

Thomas was an early fan of the Neue Deutsche Welle (German Punk and New Wave) artists like D.A.F, Andreas Dorau and Palais Schaumburg and synth-pop innovators like Depeche Mode and New Order; however it was the first time he heard a DJ beat-mix the then-new sounds of acid house in his hometown of Bremen, Germany, in 1987 that he immediately knew that he wanted to be a become a part of dance music culture. With this decision made, Thomas began buying 12” records and set about putting together a studio in his tiny bedroom, starting with an Atari computer which still has an honorary place in his studio in Berlin today.

Alejandra Iglesias was born in Santiago, Chile. Thanks to her mother’s influence, Dinky grew up playing the piano and listening to a lot of music. Since an early age she has studied several art forms and for many years trained as a professional dancer and choreographer. She danced in Peter Gabriel’s concerts when she was only sixteen and always felt comfortable on stage. As a teenager, Dinky grew up listening to bands like Cocteau Twins, Depeche Mode, Prince and The Cramps as well as classical and contemporary composers like Brian Eno and Eric Satie. In the mid nineties she was introduced to electronic music, thanks to her sister who was living in Berlin. Marco Carola is the recognized global ambassador of Italian techno. It's a position he treats with the utmost care and respect—and one that stands him among the hallowed company of contemporary techno's leading practitioners. Hailing from Napoli in the south of the country, Marco was among a small group of DJs and promoters who quite literally built the city's scene from scratch back in the early-'90s. In 1995's First Planet EP he became the first Neopolitan artist to commit techno to vinyl, paving the way for an entire generation of producers. These days Marco is a mainstay of Richie Hawtin's Minus and Plus 8 labels, who, much like Marco himself, are one of the driving forces behind techno's permeation of the worldwide dance scene.

DeWalta is set to launch his new EP, Hide And Seek, in the intimate surroundings of Berghain's Kantine on November 12th.

The event is one of the regular Killekill parties held in the space, and will feature a live set from DeWalta himself. If you like your minimal house music to be trippy and melodic, then you'll more than likely lap up his swinging grooves.

The Kalk Pets label has been responsible for some of the most weird and wonderful techno coming out over the last few years, and since they're releasing the EP, label boss Strobocop will also get to strut his stuff behind the decks. The final piece in the party's puzzle is Chilean ex-pat Chica Paula, who is half of Chica And The Folder with Max Loderbauer. Together they're sure to put on a great night in the cosy 200-capacity Kantine, which might make a nice change if you're used to partying in the cavernous Berghain.
